Vindskydd | In the summer, you can stay the night in a wind shelter in the beautiful National Park of Blå Jungfrun and book transport on M/S Solkust.
Accommodation is available in the summer months in this beautiful national park. Max eight persons can stay in the wind shelters per night, and they are the only ones on the island at night except for the County Administrative Board’s guides.
The wind shelters are open during the period that Blå Jungfrun is manned by guides, i.e. from the end of June to the end of August. Transport on M/S Solkust is offered during parts of the summer.
There’s a risk that the return journey will be postponed to the next day if the weather is unsuitable, so always take food for an extra night. Food can be cooked on your own camping stove in the designated place in connection to the wind shelters. Barbecues and open fires are not permitted.
Booking is mandatory even if you don’t get there on M/S Solkust and can be made via Oskarshamn Tourist Information on +46 (0)491-770 72. If you intend to go to Blå Jungfrun on your own, you must state this at the time of booking.
M/S Solkust cannot guarantee return times, as weather and wind can change the conditions. The skipper on M/S Solkust will inform passengers on the outward journey of the current conditions. In other words, it helps to have a flexible approach to the adventure on Blå Jungfrun.
Prices: Adults 400 SEK/pers, youth 7–15 years 200 SEK/pers. Children under 7 years go free. (N.B. If you would like to travel at the regular times for day trips, you must book a place on the required trip. You can travel at no extra cost on one of the regular departures. If you choose to use both the outward and the return journey according to the regular timetable, you must pay for a place on both trips, total 560 SEK.)
