Address: Herrgårdsvägen, 57237 Oskarshamn
Beautifully located west of Oskarshamn lies Fredriksberg Manor House, a stately building from the 1780s built in Swedish Gustavian style.
The building is, with its unique loacation, located on a 5m high stone terrace, with a magnificent view across the Döderhult Valley, one of the county's most beautiful manors and definitely worth seeing. The manor house has been preserved in its original condition. In the state apartments there are interesting tapestries, magnificent tiled stoves and exquisite carpentry details. The museum also has a wonderful book collection from the 1780s and one of Sweden's largest mineral collections. Home cooking and home baking products are served in the old manor house kitchen. A guided tour of the manor house provides an informed insight into the way-of-life in just such a residence in the latter part of the 18th century.
Music evenings on 1 July, 31 July, 7 August and 14 August (see the events calendar). Guided tours 4pm (min 5 people), cost 70 SEK.
